And just like that, we are back into another Monday! The weekend is officially over, sleeping in isn’t such a viable option, and the alarm clock is back into its weekday setting.
Mondays can be tough… but they shouldn’t have to be! You should be excited for the start of the week and not already counting down till the weekend.
To help you kick the Monday blues, here are 6 of the finest tips to help you make the most of your Mondays.
1. Ensure you have a good work-life balance
It’s important to be able to separate work from your personal life. Often it’s easy to get caught up with an upcoming deadline, meeting or project. Switching off outside of work hours, allows you to not only come back to work feeling refreshed and ready to attack the week, but it also allows you to tune in to and spend time with close friends and family too.
2. Do what makes you happy
It’s important to prioritise yourself. Spend time on your weekend or days off doing activities that you like doing. Try something new, go see that new movie or try that new restaurant you discovered with some friends or family. You should also be waking up excited about whatever you do on a Monday. When you’re truly happy and passionate about what you do, you never work a day in your life.
3. Be prepared for the week ahead
Get on top of your day before it gets the jump on you! Planning out what your day is going to look like can help you wrap your head around what needs to be done. It also helps you schedule the activities you like outside of work hours and leads to what will feel like an easier day as you won’t be stressed at things popping up that you weren’t expecting.
4. Start the day with gratitude
Before you leave in the morning take the time to think of 3 things in your life that you have to be grateful for. Starting your day with gratitude places you in a positive state for the rest of your day. It’s easy to get caught up on a couple of things that are currently a burden in our lives temporarily, but starting your day with gratitude will allow you to see how much you have to be thankful for.
5. Make more of your commute
For those of you that find yourself feeling bored on the commute to work, try putting that time to good use! Start to read that book you’ve always wanted to read, listen to a podcast on a topic of your interest, or even try upskilling or learning a new skill to improve any area of your life.
6. Make time for exercise
Setting aside some time in your day to workout will move you closer to becoming a stronger and healthier version of yourself, whilst also building some mental resilience. Besides the number of other benefits that come with working out, you should enjoy it!
